2000's

The early 2000's fashion was similar to the 90's fashion especially the hip-hop part. celebrities became the main eye for fashion and everyone wanted to know what they were wearing and who were they made from. At the start of the 2000's crop tops were getting higher, and jeans were starting to hit a very very low rise and cargo pants became a pop stars best friend. For women it was about showing of their flat stomach in crop tops and low rise jeans. The fashion became very relaxed and casual, even for the stars who you would think would be dressed in gowns turned up in crop tops and cargo pants. The fashion consisted of shrugs, gypsy skirts, ties, crop tops, jeans, cargo pants, timberland high heeled boots, tracksuits, tank tops, waist coats, mini skits (especially denim)skinny scarfs and trucker hats.

And of course:Pink's long furry coat, keyhole crop top, and waistband-altered low-rise jeans.

A bit hit in the early 2000's was the unforgettable UGG BOOT!    They first came out as a sheep skinned boots for winter to protect against the snow and wet but didn't exactly preform as they were suppose to so they wee then used as a normal every day shoe.

Fashion Designers
The most successful designers of the 2000's to now are
Alexander McQueen
Marc Jacobs
Vivienne Westwood
Stella McCartney
Ralph Lauren
Tom Ford
Valentino Garavani

Later 2000's (2010 onwards) fashion started to change to long silhouettes, no more low rise jeans with a simple colour palette or with a major print. High
waisted jeans have become a big fashion trend but many fashion trends from over the decades were thrown in and mixed together for the new range of the late 2000's for example, peplum, shoulder pads, skinny jeans, flares, dungarees, maxi dress/skirt, leggings, playsuits, bomber jackets, crocks, faux fur coats, denim jackets, lace.

Another big hit which affected fashion was Bodycon
Bodycon started in the 2000's and was adored by near enough every girl. It was soft stretchy cotton which was tight on the body to portray the hourglass figured on any girl. Women loved this and was a very big trend. Bodycon was mainly used for going out/Clubbing wear but was everywhere. it is still a big trend now.

Ultimate false beauty
Through out the 2000's the 'perfect beauty' has been an on going situation. first was the size zero model which was to portray that the skinnier the better with cat walk models being size zero and wearing designer clothes gave the wrong impression on girls that they needed to be stick thin to be beautiful. Through the decade the major operations would have been a nose job or boob job at the start of the 2000's, but now through the years it has escalated to false noses, boobs, fake tan, lips, bums, hair, nails, eyelashes, botox and many other things such as operations to do with slimming and changing features of a body to create the 'perfect body'. Many celebrities have been involved with this which has then influenced many other women to do so.

Style icons  Through the years there has always been style icons mainly actresses or singers but through the later 2000's celebrities have been big for their styles and have even gone into making their own collections, along side this people from YouTube or Instagram and other social media websites have also gain the lime light and became style icons to the general public. There has also been tv shows on how to dress or 'how to look good naked' with Gok wan.
